In Mandvi, the Gujarat Chief Minister introduced the Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2023. Through a video link from Gandhinagar, the chief minister launched the new Citizens Smart Cards initiative in the municipalities of Mandvi. The new administrative building and auditorium for the civic body were also opened by the CM. Gujarat Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2023
Gujarat’s state government has introduced the Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2023. The government of Gujarat is committed to offering a transparent anti-corruption system with the help of digital technologies.
How to Apply Online for Citizen Smart Card in Gujarat?
In 8,000 villages, the Gujarati government provides a total of 51 services via digital platforms. 35 of these services have already been launched on online platforms. Other local bodies will be inspired to adopt the Citizen Smart Card Scheme initiative from Mandvi Municipality. The specifics on how to apply online for Gujarat’s Citizen Smart Card Scheme have not yet been released.
The scheme has currently been officially launched in a single municipality, with plans to expand to other municipalities or at the state level. The state government will only invite applications for the Citizen Smart Card Scheme after it has made an official announcement. Database of Families in Citizen Smart Card Scheme
For this new Citizen Smart Card Scheme, a database of 700 Mandvi town residents’ families has been developed. The following information will be included in the database of households:-
- Residents AADHAR card
- Ration card
- Election card
- Recent photographs in the Citizen Smart Cards
All the above-mentioned information of the families would be collected with their consent only.
The Services Available Through Citizen Smart Cards
The central government’s digital locker would house the family data that is gathered. All citizens will only need to carry the smart card once the data is available to use for a variety of civic services. Income certificates and BPL certificates are just a couple of civic services. The service provided by the Citizen Smart Card will help about 7,000 families.
